James Tuttle was in the first group of arborists to test for certification at the inception of the program, becoming one of the first Certified Arborists in the state of Texas. For the first several years of the program, he was the only one between Ft Worth and Albuquerque. He has mentored many of the now approaching 40 Certified Arborists in West Texas. This was cited as one of the reasons he was honored in 2007 as Texas Arborist of the Year by the Texas Chapter of ISA. He has been judging the Texas Tree Climbing Championship for over 25 years and chaired the event for two years.
James served on the Texas Chapter Board of Directors for 9 years including serving as President in 2003-04. He has served on numerous other boards in the Lubbock community including Lubbock Memorial Arboretum Foundation, Keep Lubbock Beautiful and Native Plant Society of Texas/Lubbock.
This dedication to community has translated to Tree Loving Care's involvement in many projects over the years. Tree Loving Care has sponsored a tree care project for Arbor Day for over 25 years. These projects range from tree planting in several city parks to tree care at the Lubbock County Courthouse, Lubbock Children's Home and city parks for Wolfforth.
James is blessed to be married to the most beautiful woman in the world. They have 4 lovely daughters and 3 grandchildren. The youngest daughter lives in Lubbock and will be starting college in the fall, the second youngest lives in Fort Worth and the oldest 2 still live in their native Brazil.
You can hear James and call in to ask questions about your trees and landscape on 'Tree Talk for Texas' which airs Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. on KWEL AM 1070 and FM 107.1. Both stations are live streaming so you can listen on the internet.

Butch's wife, Joyce, (Joyce is Director of First Impressions) is the sweet voice that you first hear when you call. They have 3 children and a delightful granddaughter that is certainly the delight of their lives.
